Finaly Done it!!!...

After having a little P Reg Rover 214si Bubble for a month whilst I sold my CR-V (so I didn't put any more milage on the beast!!) and being in constant fear of an HGF (You lot are to blame for that one!!! :p ), I took my CR-V to Honda and parted it (plus cash back) for a nice little Civic 1.4 Vision (2002)... We only want a Cheap run-about... Cheap Petrol/Tax for a year!!...

I got fed up with the only calls being from Canvessers!!... No-one wanted my baby!... So I thought I'd just Take it back to where I bought it (New) 2.5 years ago and Cut my losses!! :(

Anyhew I'm now gonna try and offload the 214 on some un-HGF-suspecting personage!!!... Don't get me wrong!... I love the rover!, All the fluid levels are perfect!!! I've not even got a snifter of HGF or leaks... But its just not realy up to the job, being as its 10 years old!!!... So I'm gonna sell it!!!...

Anyone know where's the best place to sell a cheap little run-arround, thats not gonna cost me thea earth to advertise???...

Cheers.

WTF?

HGF is nothing to worry about as long as you look after your car and get it serviced by someone that isn't a semi-literate chimp.

So I'm a Semi-literate Chimp!!!... Cheers Mate!

Did I hurt you widdle feelings!... Did I hint toward the fact that a (Known/on-going) problem might stop me from owning what you see as a prefect little car!!...

I'm not a Mechanic!... I'm a Draughtsman!... I have no Mechanical Skills to speak of (I changed the plugs on a Mini once)!... No Time due to my work... And Not much Money (thats why I down graded the CR-V!!)...

I'm unsure of the History of the car!... I've got most bills upto 3 years ago plus a patchy service history! (all done but at wierd milages!!).

I've read a LOT from the MG-Rover Forums and various other sources, and not judging them as "semi-literate chimp's", And most of the K owners (bubble shape) have suffered random (no warning) HGF's some multiple!... I just want a car that is Younger and a little more reliable... and having done a little more research I've gone for a Civic!...

I used to have simpathy for all the Rover Guys, for the barrating you get on here!... but after this!... You can't see anything wrong with your Precious little rovers!... Do a little research check around!!!.. they're not as wonderfull as you think!!!... They never were!!!...

I'm gonna stop now!!... Before I say somthing Account Threatening!.. :o

Did your car suffer HGF Simian?

No, so then I don't think he was talking about you personally.

That post really was uncalled for. Out of interest, was it the 8v or 16v engine?

Anyway, hope you enjoy the Civic. Nice cars. :) Don't forget to post pictures.

Thats not what he said! read his post again, if your getting your car serviced when it should be a decent mechanic then you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

Id disagree though, HGF isnt a servicing issue, its a Rover issue :D

Look after it - don't rag it from cold and get it serviced by a DECENT mechanic. Not a semi-literate-chimp that does a half-assed job causing the liners to drop 1,500 miles later and make the HGF fail.

An apology wouldn't go amiss.

No Ideas!... I've only got bills for 3 years!...

Anyhew!.. Sorry about that!... I've just had a bad morning!... and didn't read the post proporly!... I only saw the "Semi-literate Chimp" bit and snapped!!!... :(

I'm just a bad tempered old git!...

It's a K16 214si... Bit dirty! (10 years of road grime)... Bit Rusty (on the block) but all's looking fine.

I just want a few more creature comforts: AC, CD player... Leccy windows... Oh and Comfy Seats (the rover ones have given me a bad back!!) Oo and the Suspension in the Civic feels less Spongy!...

I love the Rover!... If I could afford to run 2 cars I'd keep it!... but (as I'm the only driver in the household) unfortunatly it has to go!.. :(

I'll post some piccies of the Bubble Baby before she goes and of the Civic (strangly its Silver!! now theres a suprise!!) when I pick her up on Saturday!..

Again... Penski Please accept my humble apologies!... I dunno what cam over me!..

Sim

Anyhew!... Back On Topic!... Anyone know where I can advertise the Bubble and not spend a fortune!?!...

Don't worry about it, dude :)

How much were you looking for it anyhoo? The 1.4K is a cracker - may be worth advertising on Metro Owners clubs and MG OCs. The K is a worthy transplant.

Looking for about £700-750 for it!... I paid £750 for it 3 weeks ago!... I don't think its depreciated in that time!...

plus I've changed the Wiper blades (the rear one was the original Unipart one!... I've never seen a wiper blade worn down that far!!)... and a Haynes Manual :D

Seriously anything around £750... I don't think thats too much!?1... Nice little run-arround, Ideal First Car... Abundance of parts on the bay!!.. :)

People only really bother with the 1.8Ks for transplants :)
