Leaving Virgin after 6 years

Stuff I didn't know cheers. I'll look at Sky prices and call virgin back on Monday to compare the two and just go with whoever works out cheapest

You’ll get a better deal from virgin waiting for the outbound team to call you. Broadband is one of those services (like TV) that can be reconnected in seconds, as long as they have a contact number for you, I would advise waiting it out.

Happy to wait if I knew they are going to call but I'm not sure they will and I'm concerned about long wait times with a new provider, I'll give it until the end of week because it's looking like sky has loads of channels I'm not interested in and isn't any cheaper than a 100mb virgin connection and basic TV package

the retention team will always call!

I 1/2 my cost when I cancelled and then signed up for sky. Then I stayed as it was a good deal.

I have now moved away for a VM area and am taking a different path.

over lockdown I realised we hardly ever (as in almost never) watch live TV.

I’m on a 30meg connection, am signed up to Netflix and Disney+. Going to sign up to now TV.

I have a HD homerun (4 channel network DTV tuner). So fix you aerial but they have satellite versions.

I now run everything via streaming stick, on demand and live TV.

Not always.

That was my issue before, but I can get good speeds with BT or Sky now. Trouble is, I can't be bothered with the hassle either getting an aerial or dish fitted.

My bill is up almost £20 a month now (£15 discount from last haggle ending, plus £3.50 rise).

Really cba with the whole threaten to leave blah blah blah......especially when they didn't call me back with a better deal last time :(

Virgin free today. :D

My copper BT line has been solid this week and much improved my video calls.

Didn't receive a call from retentions. Guess they're happy for the extra capacity in my area...

Roll on fttp installation, hope within the next few months.

I was with Virgin for a number of years then, because I needed a static IP, moved to Plusnet. Having been with them now for ~7 years, I wouldn't recommend them. Their CS are **** and more than once they've buggered up my reverse DNS/caused other issues that have given me cause to complain. I'm planning on moving to Zen at the end of my contract, though that's not until basically the end of the year as I refuse to pay to get out of my current contract. Don't get me wrong; the actual internet connection with Plusnet hasn't been bad, though my download speeds have slowly deteriorated from upper 60's to mid 50's, I just don't respond well to poor CS.

I have discounted friends and family deals available in the stuck post in the home cinema section if you’re considering Sky? 35% discount on TV only or on broadband and TV?

Thank you for letting me know I appreciate it but I got "the call" yesterday and they've dropped the package to a much better amount for 18 months so I'm really happy about that saved a fair bit of hassle changing providers
