New monitor 24" - LED backlit or not?

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a new monitor.
I recently bought a cheap LED backlit 24" LCD monitor (Daewoo 23.6" monitor). Now its a nice looking monitor and beautiful for watching movies but for web browsing, using word, excel etc and anything with bright colours it burns my eyes out even with a desk lamp and main light on in the room.
The adjustment for the brightness and contrast doesnt help much, adjusting the brightness just makes the darks darker and the bright whites stay bright.
I spend a lot of time in front of my PC and as such and thinking of selling this one and getting one of the below:

Before I commit to the agro of selling this one and buying a new one I would like to know if the IIyama has better LED brightness control?
What are other people experiences with using IIyama LED backlit monitors?
Also are there any other better 24" monitors upto £160?

My main use in order: Gaming, Web/Office, Photo editing, Movies.

Thanks In Advance :)
