Led conversions

They answered the question for me.

"Are your led conversions fully road legal?"

"Yes"

"The headlight housings are CE stamped and type approved?"

"As far as your headlights are ce stamped and type approved yes"

"But when you convert them to LED from Halogen they get the required type approved stamp for LED lights."

"What is required typa approved stamp for led lights? We do custom headlight upgrades(as or profile says). We carry modifications of YOUR standard headlights. Not are manufacturer of headlights."

So basically lying and selling illegal lights for road use.
Looks like I will have to try some +130 bulbs.

Starting to see few of these on cars around here complete with RGB disco lights for when their 'parked up'

LED bulbs in projector housings work just fine, swapped mine out and kept the same perfect cut off in the same place as the halogen bulbs they replaced.

Those housings are terrible though lol

i think they're illegal, not for the potential blinding, but the potential driver distraction as people spontaneously throw up when they see them

Pretty certain that all of the coloured ones are illegal. Something about only white and amber light should be visibly emitted from the front, and only red and amber from the rear (unless reversing).

Only one step removed from truckers who think having a gigantic football team logo lit up like blackpool illuminations inside the cab looks anything other than downright ridiculous.

Incorrect bulbs for the design of headlamp will now fail the MOT, so the DVSA doesn't agree with you.
Yeah but how many testers will be able to tell. I find it funny the amount of people that hate people that day decat or remove the dpf which is illegal but then are quiet happy to fit incorrect bulbs and blind people.

I wish there was a proper way of doing it without spending thousands.
