Hi

Been using a pair of cold cathode lights to light up the interior of my case.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/revoltec-cold-cathode-30cm-single-v2-blue-cm-000-rv.html

They work great and give plenty of light so been fairly happy with them. Unfortunately after some time the switch box that comes with the lights had eventually burnt out and gave me bit of a wake up call as I think i got off quite lightlly as it could have been worse particularly if its a fire hazard?

Anyway the lights themselves wasnt the problem but the switch box that came with it. I could just buy a new one but wanted to try LED light strip option instead. At least then its a straight Molex connector which rules out my previous concern plus i dont really care about a on/off switch as i prefer the lights on when the pc is on.

Any good recommendations that anyone has used? I had seen something along the lines like this (Bright blue)

But from seeing some videos it didnt look too bright as it was more decoration than lighting?

Perhaps this looks a bit brighter?

Any good recommendations that anyone used? Looking to have something just a bright or similar to the cold cathodes?

Thanks

For single colour LEDS those look good - they both come with adhesive tape - you won't be able to adjust the intensity though.

I'd suggest going with RGB LEDs with a controller box for futureproofing/whimsy - the brightness can also be adjusted.

I went with a BlinkM controller for 12V RGB LED strips - I'm trying to get thermistors to detect the CPU/GPU/Northbridge temperature and adjust the R/B/G channels appropriately.

When it's going flat out it should be white(ish), I'll be rearranging the colours to predispose it to red most of the time - my northbridge is usually the hottest.
