led light strips too bright ?

I bought some green led strips, and wow they are just too bright to look at, can I hook them up to a fan controller to lower the brightness, it would be nice if they were half as bright, also can i cut them where the 4 dots are between the two to shorten it slightly and if i can do i need to put heat shrink over the cut end ?

You bought LEDs? I normally have to put electrical tape over LEDs to hide them. Especially the stupidly bright blue ones they like putting on monitors.

add some nail polish over them let it dry test and add more if needed should dim them to your desired lvl.

Yes you can cut the 4 dots with no need to heat shrink the end.

Any reason you didn't get some LED's that you can have multiple colors? You could have used the remote to dim them easily

put a 7v fan lead on it...
