Hi all

We're getting a small walk-in wardrobe installed in our bedroom soon and I'm struggling to find out what my best option is for lighting its interior:

I'm proposing installing lights as follows, with a push-to-break switch so that they come on when the door opens:

This is the designer's drawing for the area behind the front panels and doors:

Obviously the lights need to not be above the shelf on the right.

So my questions are:

- Are LED spotlights my best option and if so, is three in the roof overkill for that space?
- Are my placings sensible?
- I'd like a daylight style bulb but it must have a good spread. Which bulbs should I buy?
- 12V or 240V?

I asked in the LED thread but got no reply. It's quite a specific thing so maybe people didn't 'spot' it (werhay) but if you can help now it'd be much appreciated.

How about 2 lights in the ceiling and fit lights on the bottom of each shelf to light below otherwise you will get dark areas i would think.

Could use something like led strip for the under the shelves

I like that idea actually.

I think I would look at a corner fitted wardrobe and build out from the side facing you along the wall opposite the window. That way you'll retain the balanced look of the position of the window by seeing the side into the corner.

Not sure what you're getting at here. The design has been set in motion now, deposit paid etc. A corner wardrobe wouldn't provide as much space.
