Been having a look at smy new Asus MX279H and so far while impressed with the colors the actual screen seems weird to me.

Now I am coming from a really great Dell 2707WFP and while looking at my new Asus I can see across the whole screen during dark colors mainly lots of the tiny dots (pixels?) that make up the screen and they have a very faint red color to them. The forum blue for instance they are very difficult to see.
Are you meant to be able to see what I can only imagine is what makes up the actual screen or is something wrong with it? Using the supplied DVI to HDMI cable. As when you look closer its pretty nasty and just seems a bit well rubbish compared to my ancient dell.

Yeh it does seem like a lovely monitor when displaying bright colors I am just not sure if that is just the pixels and how they appear will try get a picture.

Okay got a picture that kind of shows what I see download the images for full size to see how it is. To me its like lots of pixels are not shutting off to black and staying on red but when on any other color its fine. Totally stumped as if it that isnt faulty its terrible with dark colors.

it shouldnt be like that,it should be black,i have two lg led monitors and both dont show that on a black screen

heres mine with win7 black high contrast theme

if i were you id rma it,its not right imo

That definitely does not look healthy. I have seen stuck pixels before but never like that. It looks almost like backlight bleed but red not white.
It definitely seems like you have got unlucky with that, can you return alright?
It isn't an LED thing cos I have had led displays for a few years now.

Yeh only just got it from Overclockers so will have to send it back as faulty. Thanks for confirmation its very strange as the top half is fine just the bottom half is the obvious red pixels.

Thanks for the help folks

Edit found this looks like I am not alone

Decided to take a gamble and try another one so have RMA it and Overclockers are picking it up Tomorrow and then sending out a replacement hopefully for Monday delivery according to the tech support guy.

So far process seems allot smoother than previous RMA experience although I still think having to wait for them to Test it before sending out another is a bit rubbish considering I am technically still in the DSR period and could have just asked for a refund.
