Computer currently has a blue glow inside case, but want to change it to Red, - I have lots of 12v red LED strips left over from last christmas and was wondering if you could use them (typical strip of 12v smd found for cars mainly) Can you connect them to a molex plug or could this cause damage? Thanks

You will need a resistor in between the led and power.

I'm sure tealc will be in here soon as he is the led god :)

MonsterMoshi is quite right. You just wire up those 12v car LED strips right to the 12v and 0v of the Molex.

Here's a thread I made showing several ways of doing it.

LEDs either need a resistor in series or a current limited power supply. As the 12v LED strips are usually wired in such a way that 3 LEDs are in series with an appropriate resistor they don't need any further resistors.

..and thanks for your confidence in me :)
