Hi guys, looking for a 30-50cm LED under cabinet strip light or a 15-20cm strip light that I can buy two of.

Must be battery powered, would like to be multicoloured but not important, would like good battery life (although shouldn't be a problem with LED's)

This is to stick on the underside of my monitor for late night gaming to provide just a small light source so i can see my desk/keyboard

What sort of battery were you thinking of using?

It does vary depending on the strip but a typical 30cm length may draw 100-200mA depending on voltage provided and while you could run this on a sealed lead acid battery for a fair amount of time you'll get next to no life out of a 9v battery and would need at least 6 AA cells to get it working.

Could you not run power from the pc or a wall adaptor and use a switch to switch it on and off?

You can buy USB Lights that come with a switch and a clamp for around a fiver.

While i could plug it in i'd just prefer it have it battery powered. I've seen some that we sell in work but they don't come in on a regular basis. It's going to be stuck on the underside of my tv hence don't want another wire to hide

On the off chance you have USB ports on your monitor, or a USB port nearby, you could get some 5v (i think) LED strips and power it from the USB port.
