Would i beable to power this off of a PSU? if so how would i go about it?
***no competitor links***

I've seen the single color LED strips go straight into a Molex any idea how many leds you could power through that?
Also what extenstion cables and connectors would i have to buy to making the light rig.

cheers in advance

You certainly can. You need to nothing more than take 12v from a molex connector and run it to the controller. Make sure you get the ploarity correct. Either buy the correct size DC power plug or chop the one the comes with it. Your PSU should run loads of LED's, so long as it is not on the verge of death because it's only just powering your current rig.

Brilliant been looking at these sound activated controllers aswell

I take it its the same with them.. whats the technical term for the wires and connectors? would i need female molex to connect to the PSU right?
and the extentsion cables are just RGB cables? (whats the red and black wires called for the 12v)?

You may not be able to cut the LED strips. All depends how they are wired. Series, parallei or both, or groups of, etc etc. You would need to know what the parameters of the LED's are before you can figure out if you can cut the length down.

Sounds like you're going to have some may LED's in your case you may have to use an ITX mobo :)

Careful with the eBay links, OCUK sell these so don't be supprised to get a smack on the wrists.

These are very easy to cut and splice several together
