Is there a way to change the colour of led's ? like a cap that would fit over them or something, my Asus Sabertooth X58 has a green one for power and it's on all the time and kind of ruins my current red/black theme, i just wondered if anyone had successfully found a solution to this.

If you type 'LED covers' into Google, the 1st result may well work with a little modding. Otherwise, red translucent tape or something?

What sort of led is it? The type mounted to motherboards are usually SMD.

Maybe a bit of black insulation tape atop that sort of led would work to at least block out the colour.

Thx, i think soldering a new one in is a bit extreme :P, Maybe i'll try the insulation tape method or a black marker pen.

Usually just using that thin coloured plastic that you sometimes see on the cover of disco lights to change their colour works well.

Just found an image of the board and the LED is a 3mm or 5mm standard lens type. Quite why they thought it'd be a good idea to fit one of these to the board is beyond me but there you go.

I wouldn't recommend trying to solder a different colour in yourself as that could end in tears.

Might be tricky to cover a round object with tape but the pen trick might work, at least to dim it down a bit.

A small block of red acrylic with a 3mm or 5mm hole (as appropriate) might do the job.

Yea it's a 5mm one and really bright, just messes up me colour scheme really, the acrylic sounds like a plan.
