Leeds arbitration hearing

My long post isn't heavily biased, it is factual inasmuch as it is possible to be when dripfed information.

I can't see Brighton getting into the playoffs as they haven't earned it. Makes no sense.

Leeds United will find out the result of their appeal against their 15-point deduction on Thursday at 1700 BST, reports BBC Radio Leeds.

The three-man arbitration panel will make the announcement at the Offices of the Chartered institute of Arbitrators in London.

It is expected the decision will be revealed through the Football League.

If the 15 points were to be reinstated to the club they would gain automatic promotion from League One.

More to follow.

Heres hoping they get all their points back (although I doubt they will), clearly one of the two best sides over the course of the season, they deserve to go up automatically, anything else would be an injustice in my opinion.

I think (and hope!) you'll get 5 points back.

Enough for the league to admit they fell foul of not having a solid enough rule/law to cover this scenario and also enough points not to disturb the league standings.

If you get 2nd it's a disgrace. Politics interfering with such a beautiful game...

Less to do with politics, more to do with justice.

Politics have already interfered in the beautiful game, the 15 points back is the only way to stop that happening :)

Either way you can't argue that it's marred an otherwise very good season.
Put yourself in our place. We should have been celebrating a glorious return to the 2nd tier of English football weeks ago.

i think its unfair to punish the supporters and players for any mistakes others have made, the players have earnt 88 points and should be up there knocking on swanseas door, they deserve the points back and a return to the championship

sickens me to see some of the comments from swansea supporters on the sky sports site, talking crap about how leeds are cheats and how everyone else has played so much better this season, they seem to forget that leeds EARNT 88 points and the only reason there down in 6th place is due to that 15 point deduction that had nothing to do with the way our players performed

Then again, i think it would really be a 2 fingered salute to everyone in league one if leeds won the playoffs :D

...but instead we will be this season instead. ;) :p It's all about Saturday at the City Ground, not today at 5pm!

I don't care what happens this saturday, if fairness and the reputation of the game have any value whatsoever Leeds need automatic promotion. They have quite clearly been one of the two best sides in the league this season.

Its going to be an interesting day, and the outcome is going to have an affect on more than just Leeds and the other clubs in the hunt for automatic promotion.

I bet Port Vale, Luton and Bournemouth are all praying Leeds get their points back, especially Bournemouth who have been fighting tooth and nail the last few months to keep themselves up, and it could all be for nothing.

Roll on 5pm I say.

^^

Port Vale,Luton, and Bournemouth will not get any points back that have already been deducted. That is the price for going into administration.

They are hoping Leeds get points back, so they do not have the possibility of being punished further.

Which was the point I was making.

Yep, sqeaky bum time for more than just Leeds!

The FL are going to cause themselves even bigger future problems if it isn't sorted fairly (ie points re-added).
