Hey guys,
I heard it might be possible to play splitscreen PC Left 4 Dead 2 because of a code that was written into the game and never fully supported in the final release...?

Well, I'm using Steam with Left 4 Dead 2 installed, can I make this happen? I thought it was with an Xbox 360 controller for PC, I don't have one of those but I do have a PS2-style USB controller from a few years ago... anyone know how to make it work with Steam?

Might make purchase of a wired 360 controller for Dirt2, L4D2 etc...

thanks! :)

just bought an X360 controller. worthwhile investment. this will be awesome, no need for another good PC to play multiplayer :D and ive got a 23" widescreen monitor so it looks adequate vertical split

vertical split on a nice big TV would be sick though

im intrigued to see whether there is a performance decrease cos of two characters' perspectives being rendered seperately. i get a perfect Vsynced 60FPS in any L4D situation so i might have enough horsepower.

I've tried this to no avail on L4D2 with a myriad of problems. I could get it to work on L4D1 after a while but it's very glitchy.

Tried it loads of times last night and couldn't get the pad to go to player 2. Ah well, had a quick go with the pad for the lulz.

As far as I know, you plug the pad in at the first loading screen BEFORE you activate split screen in the console. You plug it in, wait for the green 2 light, if it doesn't go to 2 you unplug and plug in again, until it does. Before the loadout screen ends
