Are either of these two games split screen co-op in game? I don't really play online, but do enjoy playing coop split screen titles with a mate.

Worth buying? Which one is better?

THanks :)

Left 4 dead is split screen co-op/multiplayer. I personally love the game as it's something a little different. They are releasing a free add-on for it soon along with the ability to play all 4 chapters in versus mode(can only play 2 chapters versus at the mo) It's sometimes hard to find decent people to play with but get a good bunch and it's great. Can be had for around £25 now and at that price it's a steal.

RE5 I don't know, from playing the demo I think it's pants but of course, it was only a demo.

Imo go for Left 4 Dead, it is a LOT of fun and less serious in nature than other shooters.

If he doesn't play online L4D is going to be pants.

Resi 5 is a lot of fun with a mate. Not tried it with split screen, but the co-op gameplay is a good laugh. :)

Both games are good, but in your circumstances, I'd definitely go for Resi 5.

the split screen in Resi 5 is horrendous, I tried it but couldn't play with the way it splits the screen

I played Resi evil 5(1st chapter) split screen with my brother and really enjoyed it. I would rather play it coop on Live though, fullscreen.

Seeing as both games are different genres, it depends on what you want.

If you want a fun FPS game which was specifically made for co-op play, offline single player/split screen or online multiplayer, then Left 4 Dead suits this purpose. It is short though, as it is currently only 4 campaigns with 5 level maps each. But the game is so random with how it does things, especially on the harder difficulty modes that its quite a cheap way to give you lots of replayability.

Resident Evil 5 is great if you are a fan of the series. Its a better single player story game with added offline split-screen or online co-op play and is much longer than Left 4 Dead.

Either way, both games are great. If you want fast pickup and play FPS, then go for Left 4 Dead. If you want a longer and harder 3rd person action game, then Resident Evil 5. My personal pick would be Resident Evil.
