Left 4 Dead Free on Friday

Yea I think it was extended, maybe because the americans havent long got home from work or something and 5 gig is a fair whack to download.

This game is ok but having a server browser would be nice. I got over 4 mins on survivor mode, woot

The free 24-hour trial of Left 4 Dead (PC) is being extended through the night. The free trial includes access to the recently released Survival Pack DLC, which introduced a new multiplayer game mode and two additional Versus campaigns. Those who wish to give L4D and the Survival Pack a free try now have until Saturday at 5 pm GMT, with no obligation to purchase. Those who decide to purchase the full product and do so this weekend will save 40% off the regular price.

The lobby/server joining is totally screwed up. If you try to "create a lobby" (the option to do this is hidden under the play with friends menu) it actually just sticks you in an existing lobby at the same chapter, but different level to the one you specified. so I have no idea how to actually create your own game/lobby. You can't select which level (only chapter) you want to play in survival mode, it just lets you choose chapter.

Can't see what's left after completing the chapters, only survival/vs mode.

Vs mode is fun (as the zombies, not as humans) apart from being hunter 15 times in a row, then boomer once.

Survival is OK, pretty nice idea, probably has the most replayability, but again, you can't choose exactly which level you are gonna play on.

Been votekicked from a few games on survival literally just as I join, which is annoying.

Has crashed to desktop several times.

Been checking the ocuk servers, and only ever seen 2 in use (constantly full for an hour or so, then emptied) so I don't know what times you guys play.

Not fantastic, but it's just OK really, not really my cup of tea, feels too much like a single player game.

Very clever freebie. After the 24 hour trial, they disabled the online play but left the single player game intact, hoping that people will get a taste for it.

I thought that was a mistake, I played a few missions but its not a long term game imo though multiplay always adds appeal

I like the final waterboat mission, had a tank chasing the boat right at the end
