Left 4 Dead - Sound stuttering?

Hi,

I have just got L4D today and I managed to play it for a couple of hours but it has developed an oddity. When the game is playing a sound (including the menu track) the whole game will stutter every 2 seconds without fail. Anyone had the same problem? I am using a Creative XF-i Extreme Music if that helps.

if you have a dual core type mat_queue_mode 0 this may stop it stuttering anthony

I have to run the game in borderless windowed mode to avoid sound issues.
