Left for Dead spec

I just tried to run it on the following, with Windows 7:

Pentium M 1.7ghz
1GB RAM
GeForce 6800LE

I had to drop the settings to minimum, and the resolution to 960x600 and even then it wasn't smooth. I would suggest you upgrade your video card to at least a 7600GT if you want to enjoy the experience.

It's a good card but such a waste of money on a PC that old. You could get a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and graphics card for only about £50 more, which would be a lot faster than what you have.

it's playable on..

e2140
4gb ram
ati X1650pro

1280x1024, ~30fps on low/medium settings, no AA

No point dropping an AGP card into that setup, you'll end up being CPU limited.
Better off saving up for a cheap C2D/PCI-E setup

Runs like pap on my Q6600 running at 3.0Ghz, 2GB RAM and HD3870 @ 850/1250 at 1680x1050 on high with 2xAA.

Is this sarcasm or not? If not then i thought that was a decent setup

my x2 3800, 2gb, 8800gt seemed to run it fine in 1400x900, max settings, 8x AA

It's playable on a laptop of: ATI X700, 1 GB ram, Pentium-M ~2ghz...

Tip: Playing multiplayer is less stressful for your PC as it doesn't have to do the AI.

3800X2, 2GB and 7600GT runs it on high at 1280x1024 with 2xAA and it's as sweet as you like.

Snap!

Xcpet I have 1.5GB. Runs like a wee sweetie. I wouldn't upgrade your gfx card alone. Do what I done and go to MM and get yourself a nice wee computer for next to nothing.

A friend runs the game on a Sempron 2ghz (skt 754), 1GB DDR , 6600GT 128mb and apparently it runs "ok" on his system.

That said, I can't imagine playing this game at anything below 60fps; the extra fps really helps during the chaotic scenes.

Also, the lower settings really destroy the brilliant atmosphere and "movie" like feeling in the game.

Lowest I've run it on is a P4 2.8Ghz, Geforce 6600GT 256mb with 1GB RAM. Ran fine at 800x600 and I think it went a bit higher. Also runs on my laptop which is Intel Core Duo 1.73Ghz, 2GB RAM, ATI Mobility X1400.

L4D runs pretty well on my PC (spec in sig) - never drops below 30fps at 1280x1024 2xAA and everything on high.
