yes it is, your right and will be moved soon, but for me, if you mean the pc or monitor for that matter, i'd leave it on, i have, and always will, most stuff breaks from cold starts, i only turn my stuff off for maintenance etc on fans or upgrades/ hardware etc.
there's no reason with a good setup and power saving on that it should matter either way now days, with good surge protection and power saving on, good cooling active and passive, apart from the bill for some, it should help, you can read up on stuff either way, some say its hours used, some say hours on, for me cold boots over many the life of parts just don't do it any good, so i've always left on
