I quit WoW about a year or so ago and even though i did an awful lot of things in it i really didn't find it hard at all to quit however if i was younger i could have seen it being a problem though i didn't let the game drag me into it much.

Daoc on the other hand was a nightmare trying to quit that in it's prime mainly due to it's hugely addictive pvp and great community.

I bought WoW plus 3 months of sub. I was fed up after 2 month, cancelled, and never went back.

If it was free to play, I'd have played a bit more, but it obviously isnt. I was addicted to GW, but that is free to play and I got bored after about 3 years of it.

How many people are addicted to it because of the social aspect you think? Or not really addicted but they just keep at it because of the people you get to talk to even if they are bored to death with the game.

Why pay a monthly fee for online social interaction when forums are free

Because by playing the game you get to know people. After a while the game is not so interesting any more but you would still like to talk to them, hang out on vent and whatnot. Some people quit and still keep contact while others hang about in game and still play. I don't know, I was just asking as I know a lot of people in game who do nothing but moan yet always logs on for a chat with the guildies.

Been there done that!

It does indeed feel somewhat of an achivement even if other people don't think so. The game is certainly addictive and it can rob you of a lot of time. I'm really glad I finished playing.

Haven't even tried Cataclysm, WoW and other MMO's don't interest me anymore.

Xbox 360 is enough for my gaming fix. :(

exactly what i did. enjoying black ops and not being addicited to wow anymore.

That stuff sounds borderline insane to me, I cant see why people rely on video games for that level of social interaction. Find a friend or get a cat IRL lol.

well after playing 3 years non stop, i deleted all my stuff last night and wont be going back! . now what to do with all my spare time!

Welcome back to the real world

"Welcome, Neo, to the real world" :)

I don't miss any mmorpg now, and to be honest, I don't really miss gaming at all. Ok, my World of Tanks Leopard will kick yo butt.. but games are fast and only last about 20 minutes each.. so you can easily have a couple of games then shutdown do something else.

What will you do with your new spare time? play other games? :p

Probably :p

OP just play it if you enjoy it, just do it in moderation like all other normal people do. Really fail to understand the way some people go on about it, but I guess I must just not have an addictive personality.

Cant believe ive done it,
left the game.

very hard

reminds me of stopping smoking

and stopping guildwars

and stopping priest..

ahh...

Welcome back - don't let WoW suck you back in. There is plenty of better stuff out there both in the real world and in the gaming world. Stay strong :)

I've been playing wow for four plus years now, still love it and your only an addict if you admit it. Thats why I am not addicted to drink, sex or wow.
