Left4Dead 2 disc version

Bought this version about a week ago and only just got around to installing it. It seems to want to install Steam but I already have Steam installed for my other games. If I really must have the game running through Steam, what is the best way of getting the game content into the Steam folder (ie: which is correct folder?) without having to use the CD key and downloading it?

You shouldn't need to have to re-install Steam. Any time I've installed a Steam game from the disc it just worked. Have you got Steam running when you start the installation?

Just let it install anyway, it is not like it will delete your existing games.

It will realise you have a newer version and leave it alone one would assume.

Assuming you install to the same folder.

Hmm for some reason it would install that way so I have just added the cd key to Steam instead and am now downloading it. Thanks for advice though.

I dont think I ever used the discs lol

Open case, cd key in steam, box in bin xD
