Is there a way to auto-join the ocuk group from within the game? The only way I have found is to find someone already on the server and join from steam then hit auto-retry. The game then launches and 90% of the time wont join with "failed connection".

Is there a way in-game to join the servers without finding somoene who is already on them? In other games like team fortress you can see a server is full, but auto-retry until a slot is free from within the game.

go to steam, then right click left4dead

Then under set launch options type -serverbrowser

Fire up l4d and click on the serverbrowser. Find the server and try to join it. If it's full then you will see the autojoin thing.

just tried that and it doesnt seem to find any servers???

but the normal method works fine

The problem with L4D is that it is not like other source games where you can spam a server with constantly populating people.

The games you see on OCUK servers will be made up by a lobby first created by someone and they usually tend to spam invites out to the rest of the guys available or in game on their friends list. From there, they might invite people from the group.

Essentially, the chances of joining a game after the lobby are pretty slim. The only chance is someone can't stay the whole game or RQ's.

What you need to do is go through the list, add a load of us who you recognise from the main left for dead thread. We often start games and if you add us in, next time there is a lobby - you'll get an invite (or just ask around when a game is happening).

Cool I've started doing that when I play with OCUK guys so one day I'll join you all for a proper game! It makes such a difference playing with people who aren't random. Was about to give up on the game as it was frustrating me, but played with a few OCUKers last night and it made it feel like a different game! Normally the teams hang about and the survivors don't get a move on. Last night I had trouble catching up with people sometimes when I was the infected as they were legging it through the level!
