Send a letter, registered post, cancelling the contract. Subject to the contract it is likely the £100 and/or a cancellation fee should be levied against you.
The main concern is whether they have ordered or are manufacturing kitchen units as we speak, with the expectation of you wanting them installed. Although you talk about 8 March... Get that letter out asap
The reality is that the company will be unlikely to pursue a court case for £100, so maybe cancel the cheque too..

tbh all these legal actions, blah blah are just there to stop people taking matter in their own hands (thats a good thing I hear you say), thing is most dont go anywhere, you either get the decision you dont want or you just cba.
One guy was well off but a kitchen company ripped him off £3,000 and nothing was done so he parks right outside, gets his chair out and a big cardboard sign explaining what they done....lol should have seen how quick their customers disappeared
