Legal PPV streaming, not from Sky?

Was thinking about watching ManU vs Marseilles tonight. Don't want to go down the pub, got a cold

I try UEFA.com and see they offer the game for 2 euros. "Bargain!" I think. "Less than the price of a pint!" I realised. Of course then I click the link and all of a sudden I get the dreaded "detecting your region" before being directed to sky.com, who naturally want £5.

No thanks, let's just say I dislike Sky and everything they stand for.

So is there anywhere that will let me buy a one-off game like tonight's, and stream it legally to my PC (live?)

I think only Sky have the rights to show the mactch in the uk.

Unless it happens to be on ITV then no, as you say they've got a monopoly on broadcast rights for certain games.

Will just have to wait for that EU ruling, then. The one where they're deciding whether regional exclusive rights are against EU free trade laws...

Can't wait for that, with targeted advertising coming up I think people will move away from Sky.

Not me

I actually like my sky coverage of sports (not to mention all the other stuff I watch on sky, probably 95% of my viewing is on sky channels). With the BBC considering scrapping their coverage of Wimbledon and Formula One, theres even the chance that Sky might pick up the coverage of that too, would love to see what Sky could do with Formula One coverage.

Am With Tombstone i prefer Sky also, + They have better sport commentators for one.

Sky won't get Wimbledon. First, I'd be amazed if the BBC gave it up, and secondly its one of the sporting jewels in the crown that must be shown on free-to-air TV (well, the finals anyway).

Thats ok, not too fussed about wimbledon, gets a bit boring once all the decent looking women players are knocked out. F1 though, I'd be very interested to see Sky handling.

I dunno we get all football over here including Saturday afternoon games on Abu Dhabi TV and they have some pretty good commentators

The only decent thing Sky do re; Live football is Soccer Saturday. Everything else if ****ing horrific in terms of commentators and pundits.
