Might not be the best place to ask this question but I can't think of a faster way to get an answer as can't speak to my solicitor until Monday
I'll try and keep this short but this scenario sounds very wrong to me namely on data protection grounds.
So I'm taking a company to court for trademark infringement as they are pretty much using my brand name after taking over a contract I used to have. Basically I ran a venue that was a blank canvas and I set it up with this brand name and trade mark. They've then assumed that they can just take the brand without any sort of licensing agreement.
Now I had a separate dispute with the venue over other matters around the end of the contract, which involved letters back and forth from ours and the venue's solicitors.
The company I am taking to court has just submitted their evidence and included these letters even though they have no relevance whatsoever. I assume the judge will just dismiss it but there's still the very hazy subject in my view that the venue never should have shared this correspondence with a 3rd party. Really doesn't sit right with me. I guess the question is, what do I do about it?
