I just heard the news of Archers death today. The guy is a legend in British gaming. He helped create International Karate, and IK+. He initially focused on the Atari 8 bit system and then ported to other systems. Then he moved his focus to the C64, and on to the Amiga. He moved on to some modern consoles too, including I think the Wii.

The most famous last game I played of his was Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker, and I also played the follow up games of Archer Maclean's Pool.

A big known name in the retro gaming history. A sad loss. Only 60. RIP

Sad news indeed. Archer bought our house in in Staverton, Northamptonshire in 2008. The house had a large snooker room (25m x 15m) that he emptied out and filled with many arcade game cabinets that he had painstakingly restored. He removed one of the walls to and put up a glass screen so he could view his original Tesla Roadster from the new arcade hall.
