Legion 5 for £949?

Hi all,

My girlfriend works for a competitor so can't mention however I'm able to get 15% off laptops and a laptop I'm looking at already has a discount applied. I know the 30 series have just been announced however the proces are starting at £999 and that's for the 15.6 version I really want the 17.3 version. For £949 I can get a leigon 5 with the below specs:

17.3inch screen ( not sure on refresh rate )
16GB DDR4 3200MHZ RAM
RYZEN 7 4800H
NVIDIA RTX 2060
512GB SSD
2TB seagate hdd ( my spare from old laptop )

My head is telling me to go for it, would I get a RTX 3060 laptop with similar specs especially with a 17.3 inch screen for £949.. what would you do?

It's a great deal but look at it in isolation, is 15% off enough to make it worth missing out on the 30xx laptops? If you want ray tracing and dlss I'd wait since they're better at both.

Look at some of the asus stix or tuf, at that size they will be more £££ but what resolution is the 17.3 and refresh rate, personally 1080p is starting to look not great at least for non gaming purposes.
