Legion - Action fantasy awesomeness

loks pretty cool imo, but yeah I can see a generic plot twist in there somewhere
still looks entertaining though:D

I usually agree with RT and IMDB on their ratings and I agree the film Legion is pretty poor in terms of delivering a gripping movie.

However.... Like some other recent Blockbuster films (Transformers to name a few...) it was quite entertaining to watch and slightly freaky (The Granny, Ice Cream man, Freaky kid!).

I don't know why but as much as I hate to watch films with zero story I also love films like this because they're at least polished well and have some nice effects to be entertained by.

That doesn't mean I only enjoy the gore and special effects of course, I watch any film as long as I am either entertained by it or gripped on the edge of my seat or wanting to hide under a duvet (Damn you Sadako!) or all 3 :p

It's definitely worth the watch though so like others have said, don't "not" watch it just because RT gave it a poor rating, they're rating it as a film, not as a different experience - they're critics afterall!

I really enjoyed this, and its not usually my kind of movie at all.

Paul Bettany was a brilliant choice as was Dennis Quaid.

As Steveo said, movie reviews are by and large completely useless for any movie as its down to the individuals preference, that said i do use IMDB do get a general idea about a movie or look at cast etc.

But i would say Legion is definately worth a watch, just dont go into it expecting something epic.

Saw this in the US. Its not a bad film but felt rather like an expensive pilot for a tv series rather than a film in its own right. There are also a lot of similarities to other films - most notably for me, Terminator (1).

One thing that kept jarring me back to reality was the ridiculous choice of name for one of the "heroes". Jeep?! A bizarre choice.

Paul Bettany is pretty good in it though.

Wow! It must be son nice having a mind of your own. Seriously, you read someone else's review of the film and thats all you need to know? Ok, fine.

Actually I've read half a dozen reviews and they're all negative. (You do understand that the whole point of reading a review is to learn about the movie, right?)

It's currently on 17% at Rotten Tomatoes. You tell me if that's a good thing.

for all you no the people that do the reviews might have the tastes of films opposite to you, people stop been sheep people by read reviews of countless sites and watch a film, if by the trailers it doesnt look like your cup of tea then fine dont watch it but base it on your own tastes instead of thoughs in reviews :(

It isn't one or two reviews, it seems a significant amount of reviews are panning it. All of them have different tastes to you or me? Maybe, maybe not. But I assure you - it is a BAD film. I still can't get Denis Quaid's one liner out of my head :(

Looks good, but I can't get on board with Paul Bettany. I just can't take him seriously.

Denis Quaid fighting God/Angels, a terrible one liner. That is all I need to say.

I've nothing against The Quaid, but Legion is indeed terrible.

Complete and utter nonsense. Plot holes The Hulk could easily chuck a tank through, poorly choreographed fight scenes and just so absolutely, completely goddamn random - it makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

Seriously, don't waste your time at the cinema. Leave it for a rental and get a few beers in you while watching. At least you can make fun of it then.

Seems quite a few people who've seen it here, in principle, agree with the review on RottenTomatoes.

That's the reason I read a review. I like to get the idea of a film whether I *might* enjoy it. Given that it's not just 2 reviewers, rather a panel of at least tens, their accuracy as to any merit in the film would be better than just an Empire review.

I don't take review sites like this as gospel, but they go a long way to help me decide whether to go to the cinema and watch it or not. Seven quid for a cinema ticket is a lot of money, and if nothing else, these days it's an informed financial decision! :)
