Has anyone got it?

I've really enjoyed both Lego Harry Potters, Lego Pirates, and Lego Batman, but I'm a little sceptical about Batman 2 as its meant to be going in a new direction with open world play and voice acting.

Has anyone got it? Is it better in a good way, or has it lost the simple fun humour and game play of the previous games?

Voice acting is a welcome change to me. The noises the characters made, particularly in the in the Lego Harry Potters really started to get on my nerves (the booing during the lessons and such.)

The gameplay so far is very much like some of the previous games, you go around the world to start the levels, the only difference is this world map is a bit bigger, compensated for with cars.

If you were to ask my sons they would say it is worth it almost for Superman alone. He flies! (obviously), is super stong (obviously), can do laser vision (to destroy gold items), can do frost breath (to freeze water/baddies) and is their new hero!

Ah ok, so its not like a free roaming game, its just the 'hub' is large. The ones in the Harry Potter games were Hogwarts and other areas so were pretty big.

I have read that the requirement to play each level twice (one in story, then again in free play with characters with abilities you unlock later) is nullified in this game? Is that the case?

The hub is huge! I don't know how much bigger than Hogwarts it really is as you cannot go into buildings, just around the roads/parks and climb/fly up the buildings.

You will definately have to replay the levels to get all of the collectables, as other games you only get 2 ir 3 canisters on the first play through. There are obvious bits in the levels that make it clear that certain characters only can get through, for example flower patches I am thinking will be Poison Ivy.

Cheers. I've done a bit more reading and it sounds like its another of the 'standard' Lego games, but with the hub making up a massive free roaming world with its own challenges and puzzels in it.

Sounds like I will be getting this for the GF and me to complete :D. Will be the 5th Lego game we have 100%'ed!
