Lego Star Wars 2 - 360 Lockups

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced lockups in this game?
I am getting blooming annoyed with it now, I have just the Super Story on Return of the Jedi to do and the game locks up at the exact same point, three tries so far during today, have had the 360 off for a couple of hours and tried again but no luck at all :(
I have played this same level countless times in order to unlock the golden nuggets and now that I have 98 out of 99 its just become a pain in the rear.

Anyone know anyway round this at all?

Gaaah! Dont say such things! Already on number 2 and dont fancy waiting in while the muppets come to pick it up again.
 
Yep I get the lockup at the end on mine. Dannyjo in another thread suggested a way of getting around it (banging the ship on the walls all the way through to force the game to slow down seems to work).

Other than the lockup its a fantastic funny little game.

I am not as far as that yet, just in Endor by the river (just before you get the tractor and the field of carrot things).
Had a search and see the same issue but on the PS2 and they got round it by cooling their machine with an ice pack :confused:

It worked for you then Owen? Excellent if it did.

Bobbler I had that problem and I found my best way round it was to walk across the stream using C3P0 Nice and slowly. Whenever I blatted across using another character it locked and I went ****** beserk.

It is a funny little game but the constant replays do your head in after a while. If I wasnt in a hurry to sell to get my money back It would be a great game to string over 6 months.

Sorry no I was just commenting on what you had told me and the fact it worked for you. (appologies for the way I wrote my post).

A bit of an annoyance for me is te fact of how many times like you have said that you have to do each level to get the achievements. IE jedi thingy both in story and freeplay mode. arghhhhh.

Cheers Danny, will give that a go tomorrow. Would love to 100% this game, true the replays do your head in after about the 10th go though :D

I got it about 2 days ago, was so worried it was gonna crash during the super stories.

Glad its over - though i still need to replay for a few of the undefeated achievements

Yeah that super story mode is one of the most ridiculous things ive seen yet in a 360 game. Well done mate, its a slog isn't it.
 
Just completed the episode IV super story myself not looking forward to doing V and VI now though as I take it you don't get the gold brick unless you beat the time limit? Only beat it by about 3 minutes on IV!

The games a ton better with 2 people playing though as on one player the computer is useless and gets in your way!

Oh fair enough its easy then I beat the 100,000 after about 3 levels! Just its a really boring mode when you've played each level about 5 times already!

Just had another close call doing the death star 1,000,000 stud challenge did it in 4:59.45 when 5:00.00 is the limit :D that's a crap mode as well.

I thought the Million stud ones would be good if you actually got to keep the million to speed up the upgrades. Because what happens in reality is you dont actually buy anything fun til the games over to get the 100% when you have the fountain and 99 blocks.
 
Well bugger. That didnt help either. I walked very, very slowly over the river with C3PO and it locked up again.
Damn thing is going back for a refund.
 
Had no lock ups yet.........but haven't done any of ROTJ either which seems to be the culprit for everyone.

Is it 1 level in particular or is all of Jedi buggy?

Crossing the river, just before you build a tractor on Endor.
Driving me blooming nuts, only needed that 1 gold coin on the Super Story mode for the full set.
