Has anyone seen this? It's the new mindstorms set, it looks like a lot of fun :D
Not sure how well it works with older LEGO bits, and apparently it costs £180  . I like how they say you can use it to detect a burglar in your house and defend your property, I have this strange image of the robot with a baseball bat in it's claw :D . Too expensive for me, but if anyone gets one/has one (you could always pretend it was a present for the kids...) then it's your duty to show us it ;)

Ooooo, I had the original one of these with the older older older brick that connected with a serial cable.

I want that, looks well doodey. :D

Lego + PC = unbeatable.

Wonder if we got enough between us if we could have a game of football.

My brother noticed the Johnny 5 style appearance too :)

"Suggestions for use:
You can use the Light Sensor to make a burglar alarm robot: when an intruder turns on the light in your room the robot can react to defend your property"

It's that comment I found funny; I was wondering how exactly, and pictured it holding a bat or something :p , though I know what you mean after the connecting my LEGO crossbow to a digital timer :o :D

I do wish these things were around when I was younger.

I made a device not too different from the CD firing machine (check YouTube). I used a BB gun and regretted it as soon as it came alive. The damn thing had a mind of it's own.

on the surface, this thing looks cool, but its practical applications are limited because the processor only has 3 outputs and four inputs.

the microprocessors that are used to controll proper robotic devices have hundreds of output ports.

Give it another 5years :)

You'd be surprised, I own the old one and found the three outputs very limiting, but some people seem to be able to do some incredible stuff with them!
