Its ok, ive been there a few times.

Abit of a Chav central place, but generally its bearable

Same as most cities I've been too. Some nice areas, some nasty areas.

There are worse cities.

Pubs everywhere, nothing of note. I highly recommend Mosh as your final destination though.

I live 9 miles away from Leicester. It's not particularly wonderful, but it's not particularly awful either. I've been to much better and much worse places. It's just a reasonably-sized city with a famously awful ring road

Plenty of pubs in the town centre.

Why have you chosen Leicester? Nottingham would be closer (slightly) and much better.

Been to Leicester today actually, first time going there.

Didnt see the city much, but it looked just like any city with terraced houses. Some nice places, some not so nice.

The taxi drivers were both nice guys and quite chatty.

Suck it and see, go for the day and see what you think

Well I doubt he would go wondering around St Ann's and the Meadow's. If he were to then yes he would get shot.

Man that sounds bad and said not in jest is worse.
I am about 9 miles from Leicester and i have to say the roads round the centre are a nightmare. Having said that once your in town its pretty good. Has some funky little shops tucked away and plenty of bars/pubs. Best of all though its safe in my opinion.
So getting slaughtered and wandering around town is not a problem.
