I love the taste of lemsip. I think it is gorgeous but alas it's only an option when i'm ill. I have tried differen't 'lemon teas' as a substitute - Typhoo, Twinnings and i'm drinking something at the moment called 'lift' which is the closest thing I could find (when I say closest it's still a million miles away from what i'm after)

Is anyone else a freak like me who enjoys the taste? Are there any available drinks which taste the same?

Thanks! :)

Eugh! I can't stand lemsips though I force myself to drink them when I have cold. My trick is to make them with as little water as possible so it's quicker to drink but it's always the last mouth full that makes you feel like heaving.

also, leave them until they're luke-warm, so you don't have to sip. you can drink them quickly and get it over and done with!

you could try cough syrup and hot water, but i'm not sure which ones are lemon flavour.....

or you could mix honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice. much cheaper, doesn't get you addicted to paracetamol.
you can mix the proportions yourself. usually after a bit of practise you can have it tasting better.

you shouldnt buy these hot drinks anyway as they are what make the drug companies their millions.

all lemsip is is paracetamol (availible at 20 p for 12 tablets)
and Phenylephrine which i think is in strepsils, so you could get tesco/boots own brand strepsils.

Yes, jamoor, but generally lemsip has ~1000mg of paracetamol, which compared with your average 300mg BP tablet, it's quite a bit more. I don't particularly relish taking 4 tablets at once, compared to one sachet of lemsip.

Assumming of course (in my experience of checking a few major and minor brands in labs) that the tablet contains a bit less than the stated dose.
