Does this annoy anybody else?

EG. I lend from my Mum.

NO! You Borrow FROM your mum, you would lend TO your mum.

I now it's been discussed before but hey ho OCUK amnesia et al.

I say can you lend me your XXXX

or Can I borrow your XXX

Both seem right to me

However can you borrow me doesn't seem right.

Could I lend a fiver off someone? I could have went to the bank to get some more but I accidentally brought some beers so can't afford the taxi to town.

I work in stoke, it appears that the majority of folk there don't know the the difference between borrow and lend.

Some more are the "I learned my dog a new trick last night!" and the whole c-ooooo-k booooo-k arguement

Yeah, that one is annoying as well.

And to think it took me 3 attempts to get my GCSE English, lol! :cool:
