Not sure if I have posted in the right section or not , if not I appologise.

I have four fans in my case, is it possible to connect them together into two sets of 2 fans and then lenthen these cables?

What sort of wire do I need and where from, assuming it can be named?

Might also braid them whilst I am at it so what braid would I need and where from for this?

Any other tools I need?

regards,

Matt

I just received a fan Y splitter cable in the post, it was made by gelid and has black braiding, looks lovely :)
Not sure if ocuk sell any but it was easy enough to google. hope that helps!

Yeah thought of the fan splitter cables but was thinking of having a go at wiring it myself as a bit of a project, also try to make it look neater.

To make the tidier/easier to route, especially if you've got to extend them anyway :)

In answer, as long as they are normal fans (no speed control etc), and you don't mind losing any speed reporting it's extremely simple to do :)
The tidiest way, assuming you just need the two wires is to join the reds and blacks together onto a suitable extension wire, with solder and heat shrink it, that means you don't have any bulky joints, then just put a suitable connector on the end. With 92mm fans and up I don't think you would be that safe running them off the motherboard like that though.

Just make sure you wire up the connector correctly :)
