Lenovo AIO - Better solution then VGA in?

Hi all,

I have a lenovo All in one computer/monitor that I use just for work in office. I'm limited for space but have recently added a gaming tower and it fits in (just, snuggly) next to it.
For the past few months it has worked brilliantly and I can swap between work on the AIO to the gaming PC with just a button on side of monitor which switches to the VGA port of back - I am using a HDMI-VGA cable/adapter from the gaming PC HDMI OUT. It has been great but resolution and colour depth limited.
I just wanted to check this is currently the best solution without buying another monitor? Are there any HDMI-USB type cables that would give better result so I could stay in the AIO higher res environment?

Thank you

Does your Lenovo AIO only have VGA as an input, any other inputs at all?

What spec is the AIO? An Elgato capture card could work, would need to review lag. I have a PCI-E one I use for capturing non-gaming stuff but there’s a USB model too (they’re designed/aimed at online twitch et al streamers).
