Hi there,

I am new to this community, so I hope that if my question should have been raised elsewhere, you will redirect me there.

I have recently purchased an Ideapad 3 gaming laptop. In the online shop it was written that the laptop has a 512 gb ssd drive (the laptop in the shop: https://www.1a.lt/p/lenovo-ideapad-...XWTZ8mN8mqCUy9X4EqSTZPYPi8YGkV9e9cAHXLqggcEEo ; the shop is Lithuanian, but if you scroll down, you should be able to see all the specifications of the laptop). When the laptop arrived, I saw that it has a 256 gb ssd drive, but there is also an "hdd upgrade kit" (i am adding a photo of it below) with a code "PK37A00AL00". If I understand correctly, if installed, this kit gives the additional 256 gb that were promised, right? But does this means that I will have a 256 gb ssd drive and a 256 gb hdd drive? Or does this mean that I will have a 512 gb ssd drive? Because when buying the laptop I was given the impression that it will have a 512 gb ssd drive, so, honestly, I am not sure if I should ask for a refund, or should I just go along with this upgrade kit.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

I have a lenovo l340 which was the model just before the ideapad 3 which is being phased out in favour of the ideapad 3. I recognise the pictures you posted so I EXPECT it is exactly the same as on mine.
On the l340 if you temporarily remove the M2 NVMe underneath there is a connector on the motherboard. That cable you showed; goes into that connector on the motherboard and has a standard serial connector for a 2.5 inch ssd on the other (larger) end.
So it is an expansion cable for adding a hard drive. (on the l340 you just replace the M2 NVMe when you have plugged in the cable). If you look on youtube someone has done a video of using that cable to add an extra SSD to an l340. Search on 'l340 upgrade' and you will see the video quite quickly.

If that's where you bought the laptop it should already have a 512gb drive, you haven't received what you paid for, I'd get in touch with them and ask them to replace it with what you ordered.
