Hello,

I am looking into purchasing a Lenovo laptop with specs seen here: https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Legion/Lenovo_Legion_5_15ARH05H?M=82B100CUYA

The spec states:

Storage Support
Dual SSD mode: up to two drives, 2x M.2 2280 SSD or 2x M.2 2242 SSD

As configured, this device comes with a "short" 2242 SSD.

I am having trouble interpreting the spec. It seems that the current drive cannot be combined with an additional 2280 drive. I don't want any RAID mode, I would like to use them as separate drives. If so, why is this the case? Has anyone added another drive and did it work?

Help is appreciated.

Yes, that seems logical, but the spec states 2x M.2 2280 SSD or 2x M.2 2242 SSD. So it seems if I add an 2280 drive (which I plan to do) it will not work in combination with 2242 drive which is there. Is this a legit limitation or is it just a poorly worded spec?

While on this topic, I have another question. It seems the capacities for max sizes are a bit small. The spec states:
• M.2 2280 SSD up to 1TB
• M.2 2242 SSD up to 512GB

I know there are drives 2280 sized with over 1TB, but I am not sure there are 2242 drives over 512GB, although I would assume so. It seems strange to limit SSD size by length. Any thoughts on this?
