Any ideas at all when this will be available in the UK ???

It looks like a great option if the 4k screen is any good

I'd use the laptop for 2 things.

Firstly photographs/photoshop/lightroom/pro-select and secondly for gaming.

A 4k screen at a 1:2 res would mean gaming at 1920x1080 which the gpu would be able to handle.

The 3k screen on things like the GS60 would struggle to run native and have to run a too-low res at 1:2.

Seems like the ideal set up !

I've now seen this Lenovo Y50 advertised in my non-UK land for £1063.20 with the following spec:

  • Intel Core i7-4702HQ (2.2 GHz with TurboBoost bis 3.2 GHz)
  • 4k UHD-Display (3840x2160)
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M 4 GB GDDR5 (Maxwell)
  • 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM
  • 512 GB SSD,
  • 4-in-1 Card Reader, 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0
  • WLAN 801.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Battery: 4 cell Li-Poly-Ion, up to 5 Std. runtime
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit

Very nice price! Only thing that annoys me is lack of spare storage slot... not really forgiveable when all main competitors are giving space for minimum 2 HD configs...

I heard the 4K model was delayed until July at least.

A good alternative is the Asus N550JK...
