Lens Hoods

[Ghost in the Shell]

Obviously useage varies dependant on the lens itself but i wanted to ask about when its good to use one, when not and also if different shapes have different factors.

if no one can be bothered to comment if theres an online write up on them that i haven't found i'd appreciate the link.

hoods you buy tend to be specifically designed for the lens unless you buy third party ones, so you should have no trouble

im really asking about my hood with my 17-40L so i guess thats a good hood for a good lens
