Lens issue.

I have just bought a used Nikon 18-70 f/3.5-4.5 G IF ED and was wondering if anyone else has one. This one has quite a bit of lateral free play in the barrel sections when they are extended and rattles a bit too.

Now i have been offered a replacement or full refund so i will go for a replacement.

Having said the above it does work without fault and image quality at both ends is good.

I am just a bit concerned that i might have a bad one.

Sounds like you've make the right choice with getting a replacement.

Mine shows none of what you describe and I bought it used, great choice though I couldn't see me being without mine now.

Got the replacement lens today and it is fine, in fact it is in better condition overall and completely unmarked so a good result.
