Just had my Vive lens mod come in the post today and OMGGGG its brilliant!!

The sweet spot is massive and the lens are crystal clear.
You can instantly see a massive improvement and crazy how HTC dont use better lenses as they are pretty cheap to buy.

Took me 10 minutes to swap them over and so happy with the improvement!

If anyone on the fence then 100% get it done as easy to do and I cant go back

Agree. My new lenses arrived over Christmas and has breathed new life into my Vive. £35 from Ebay and money well spent.

No idea why HTC don't ship with these clear lenses as the difference is night and day.

Did you have to do the ini file tweaks for the distortion at all?

Should be doing the Lens mod myself this weekend :)

I have not had to do anything other than swap lenses. Fired up Steam VR Home and was amazed at the difference.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Coming from the beat saber thread to here to say I've also just ordered these. I'll google this distortion fix thing.

Ya but the whole point of the Fresnel lens is to magnify and make the world appear larger / more immersive. I'm pretty sure the GearVR lenses make everything appear less immersive in order to gain that clarity.

I can honestly say i have not felt any less immersed as a result of the lens mod, in fact i feel far more engaged as i am not having to mess with the headset every 2 minutes as the sweet spot has shifted.

Well, I shall give an honest and unbiased review :)
Oh and I have the TPCast so I wonder if that will make a difference...

Played loads of games with the mod and not noticed anything like that

All I notice is how clear stuff looks now

I did the mod to my Vive pro months ago. The difference is night and day compared to the the original lenses. You should definitely do the Vive barrel distortion mod to the steamvr file. The only issue I have with it is that after a long session I have a little eye strain the following day. I also use the Vive wireless adapter and it makes absolutely no difference to the mod. So presume it would be the same with the tp cast.

Doing the lens mod makes it much more immersive.

I used the above video to do it.

Just received mine and fitted in a few minutes and as others have said the difference is amazing, so much clearer. Should have been standard on the vive.

How easy is this to reverse if you don't get on with the new lenses?

And do they affect glasses wearers - I'm short sighted.

It's really easy to put the old ones back in, just pop them out and slip the originals back in. Not sure how the glasses work though.
