Im not sure what to do as i was thinking of getting a canon 10-22mm or 17-40mm lens to replace the kit lens on my 300d but then i got thinking how about getting a 350D and keeping the kit lens for now as tbh i dont think the lens is all that bad for its price and i seem to cope with it, but is it a bit pointless just upgrading to the 350D as i guess theres not a whole lot of difference between the 2 body's? what would you guys do

New lens.
Then save up for the 30D's successor if you get an EFS (10-22 etc) mount or a FF if you get a EF (17-40, L ;) ) mount.

I haven't used the 300D but from what I've read, it seems that the 350D isn' that huge a jump, so personally, I would invest in a lens and upgrade the body at a later date

i would go for the lens'. 300D is still a good camera! You won't notice the extra 2MP for most photos.

I tried a friends 350d the other day and found it too small for my hands to use comfortably.

i`m in a similar boat, but i want to get rid of the kit lens, dont like it anymore, isnt crisp enough, need to find a nice replacement lens, one that can maybe do macro`s better, but i dont know what to look at.

Definitely get a new lens. The image quality between the two cameras will be very similar. Its only in high ISOs where the 350d is noticeably better.

Remember the lens makes the image, the camera is only capturing it. Oh, and lenses don't depreciate as much either.
