About 2 months ago I bought a Canon M50 MkII, mainly for streaming and the clean HDMI output, however it has actually made me get out and about again with the camera and I am really enjoying it. I just have the standard kit lens right now (15-45mm) and I am wanting to expand my lenses.

I really like macro photography out in the wilds (fungi, leaves, berries, small creatures etc) and so I have been looking to get a macro lens but I am torn between options. I have thought about buying the 28mm EF-M macro, however I am also tempted to purchase the EF to EF-M converter and go for the Sigma 105mm instead. The EF to EF-M converter allows me to use my wifes lenses and borrows friends lenses when I am able too.

My question then, for £500(ish) want solution would you look at?

Alternatively, I have been thinking about just sticking with the EF-M range, albeit small, and getting the 28mm Macro but also picking up the 22mm pancake lens for some fun also. Unsure on the quality of this lens though and again, if I bought the EF to EF-M converter I could also when funds allow get the 50mm 1.8 that everyone raves about.

If my ramblings have made any sense, what are your thoughts?

Got to admit, I bit the bullet today and bought the canon converter (£70 second hand, but looks brand new) and a new 50mm 1.8. I also pickup the Sigma tomorrow.

Now only if it will stop bloody raining!!

The best Canon Macro lens is 100L F2.8 IS USM Macro lens is bloody sharp !
I even use it for Portrait work when I select a different focusing distance selector.

Buy a used one which go for apx £480-£600

I am really happy with the Sigma to be honest, and if I wanted to use the Canon 100L my mum has it so its always around to borrow if needed. :)
