So following on from the UWA discussion on another thread, just occurred to me how much I'm enjoying using my 10-22 these days. After a few exchanges/sales the set of lenses I seem to have settled on are:

  • Canon 10-22 for UWA, scenery type stuff
  • Canon 17-55 f/2.8 for general / walkabout use, works OK at low light for party/show shots too
  • Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Lens - for animals/zoos because I can't afford/justify a better telephoto :) - incidentally this lens is currently ridiculously cheap, I paid nearly £300 for it 2 years ago - it's now under £140 + a further £25 off from Canon! (offer ends 21 Jan). It's not L glass but a fantastic budget performer IMO.
  • Cheap nifty fifty 50mm prime for low light / portrait / macro hacking purposes :) Rarely get's used though.

What lenses/purpose combos are you guys wielding ? :)

Interestingly (and off topic) I've just checked my lightroom stats and out of my 'main pick' photos I've used all 3 key lenses pretty much consistently 135 picks with the 10-22, 165 with the 17-55 and 137 with the 55-250!
