Lenses for Sony A6000

Evening.

Been offered a barely used A6000 at a extremely reasonable price by a relative who has decided to go for a full frame canon for their next toy. As far as I'm aware it's just the A6000 and 16-50 kit lens and a couple of batteries. I need to check on that.

As we're off to California, Las Vegas, New York, Paris, Monte Carlo and finally Bath later in the year, I think it'd make a pretty good walkabout camera. With a additional lens or two, it'll be ideal. Plus it's small and light enough that the other half may actually try to learn how to use it.

Thinking about getting the Sony 55-210 or Tamron 18-200 to add a touch of range. Also tempted by the 50mm f1.8 for a nice low light lens. May pick up a used 18-55mm if I go for the Sony 55-2100 so I can use the same filters on all the lenses. I'd love some Zeiss toys for it, but trying to justify some of those to SWMBO would be tricky.

Anyone got any suggestions at what I should be looking at instead, or as well as?

When I first got my A580, it came with an 18-55, the first two extra lenses I purchased were a Sigma 18-250 as a general walkabout (so would be covered pretty much by your 55-210) and then I got a 50mm prime, since then I have added various lenses as and when time and money permitted. Maybe go in to to a couple of stores and see how heavy the lenses (and how big) will be on your camera, you may find as a walkabout you want to pick a single multi-purpose lens and do it that way?

Does help actually. Got my hands on the camera yesterday for a quick play and it's an extremely impressive little thing. Not a huge fan of the power zoom though.

Is your criteria only set to autofocus lenses? The beauty of mirrorless is you can adapt a huge variety of legacy lenses that are of very high quality at bargain prices.

For the other half to use it, yes. Her idea of photography is almost getting something in focus on her phone... I'm open to ideas with adaptors and older lenses, but have no idea what I'm looking at there.
