Hi guys

I'm having some issue with file sharing with my XP system. Basically, I tried via wireless - I'll see "XP" under my Sharing bit in Finder. I double click it, I'll be connected as a Guest. Tried connecting as a user and it kept showing me as a Guest.

Never mind that, I tried to copy a simple Text file over and it kept saying I do not have sufficient privilege. I managed to transfer a .doc document over a few days ago and now it's playing up.

I've turned file sharing on my XP (hence able to see it) and I've even turned off all firewall. None is working, anyone have any idea / willing to shed some light? (very green with networking, but keen to learn)

Have you selected the "Allow user to change files" option under sharing on XP?

Leopard shows me as "guest" until I click into a folder then it shows no user information. I can write to the one folder on my network that allows writes, the rest are read only as I did not check the box.

Yeap, I've selected Allow User to Change Files - I'm even able to delete a folder from my ShareDoc folder - yet I can't transfer a file from my mac to the XP...

I have exactly the same issue here, and the share in question was working fine with Tiger. My Linux box that shares via Samba works perfectly with Leopard so I think there may be some sort of Leopard/XP incompatibility.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with issues - google didn't help much.

Hopefully Apple will sort it out soon...:(

Thats pduk, tried it last night and it worked too... but I've got to connect to my XP via "Recent Items" section - Finder isn't displaying it till it is "mounted". Usually it'll seek and display on the left side when available...
