Hey,

Since I installed Leopard a while ago I've always noticed after the grey apple logo there's no loading screen thing.. just goes to a blue background before loading the desktop background and then the toolbars etc.

Is this normal or do this or am I missing something? Would look nicer if it had something rather than just a blue background.

Cheers

it is normal - it just hangs on a blue screen for a bit then cuts to desktop. I have a login screen so I don't get it anymore

How do i turn off the loading and shutdown sounds on my mbp ? total noob in need of help and a small hijack of the thread (sorry).

As in when you turn on - there's the "derrrm~" noise? Turn your volume off (without any speaker output plugged in, then plug in after to adjust volume if you use speaker)

That is the noise I wanted turning off, Well i was hoping for a hidden option like in windows to disable it :(

I don't see any problem on my side, since I've turned it off and don't use the internal speakers - it worked a charm when I'm in the library and turning on the laptop.

When I'm home, just plug in speakers and viola~ sound without the need to adjusting the volume up - that's one feature I like about OS X as compared to a Windows laptop I've used before.

hehe, well at the moment i do not have my stereo (stolen) so i have to use onboard speakers.

I guess i will have to live with it until i get my stereo replaced. ta!
