If I bought a MacBook now (say next Saturday), do Apple do any discounted upgrades to Leopard seen as it will only be a few weeks before the release date?

Thanks

If they announce Leopard will ship within 14 days of physical purchase, or 10 days of online purchase.. then you can send them a fiver for disks. Otherwise you are out of luck.

I don't expect it till the end of October.

If you need it now, you need it now. Tiger is an excellent platform.

Yeah you save £70 by waiting, but is a laptop, for the next 6 weeks worth £70 to you?

The thing with Apple laptops is that they are always being improved.

So if you want one, don't wait, just buy it straight away.

October is the current target for Leopard... it was 'confirmed' for earlier this year, before being bumped!

I always check http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#MacBook before buying anything Apple. it isn't faultless, but it gives you a a general idea.

"Product MacBook
Recommendation: Neutral - Mid product cycle
Last Release May 15, 2007
Days Since Update 118 (Avg = 202)"

In this case we are 3 months since the last update, and it normally gets bumped every 6 months.

Remember to look in the refurbished part of the Apple Store - Core Duos for 2/3 of the price.
