Hi

I plugged the pc into my tv via hdmi to play crysis 3 and noriced the frame rate wasnt too good so i lowered some settings to get it right

Later in the week i moved the pc back to the monitor and it seemed like i was able to crack the settings up much more and get a better frame rate than i was getting via my tv

Both were at 1920 by 1080

Is there something im missing, or is it something silly like i noticed the lower fps more on the larger screen than on the smaller?

The tv is 46 full 1080p

Monitor is 22 or 24 also full 1080p

Thanks, i only say as i wouldnt mind playing tomb raider in my sofa and am getting 60fps maxed out minus the hair thing

I have crossfire 2gb 6950s, 8gb ram and an i5 2500k if this info is needed

Thanks, i cant see why this would happen

Has the TV got a game specific mode, e.g. turning off Postprocessing / Motion Interpolation e.g. is it a 100Hz or 120Hz tv - could be trying to interpolate your 60fps source into a 120Hz by adding frames - which fine for tv/dvds probably doesn't work well for gaming.

Thanks for your reply

It has game mode but i always have this turned off, will double check when im home though

Ill also confirm the tvs hz when im home

I assume the monitor is 60hz as thats what i get with vsync on in games

The tv is fairly new, only 5/6 months old samsung

Hmmm just plugged it in to tv and now all i get when loading the game is a blank screen and i cant alt tab out or anything so im forced to restart

Really odd

Plus steam seems to look to update on every boot lately

Just rebooted and tried crysis (which atleast ran when last plugged in to tv) and i get the same blank screen :(

Just an update, if i turn exclusive full screen off in the starting menu to tomb raider, it loads up

So maybe this is related torefresh rate?
